PSG superstar Layvin Kurzawa has reportedly been offered to Barcelona, who are mulling over the prospect of lodging a €25 million summer bid for the left-back.

If reports from Spanish publication Sport are to be believed, Barcelona could very well have found a solution to their left-back problems. The Catalans have been offered the services of PSG superstar Layvin Kurzawa, who has been frustrated at Parc des Princes under Unai Emery, and is set to be available in the summer for €25 million.

Layvin Kurzawa arrived for PSG from league rivals AS Monaco and became an instant hit at Parc des Princes, with his ability to take the field as a left-back and further up the pitch as well.

This season though, the player had expected to become the first-choice for PSG. But, the arrival of Yuri Berchiche from Real Sociedad seems to have scuppered the aforementioned, with Kurzawa having to share his game time with the Spaniard.

Barcelona’s intention to reinforce their left-back position has been reported after some rumours of Lucas Digne not being happy with his current situation at the Nou Camp. The Frenchman is likely to seek an exit at the end of the season and Barcelona are looking for a replacement.

But, the club is not just looking to replace Digne, but bring in a player who can be a starter at left-back, with Jordi Alba not in the same vein of form and also courting interest from England. Kurzawa could be a solution to both the problems. The PSG superstar was linked with Barcelona during his time at AS Monaco as well and could be a cost-effective option considering the €25 million fee that has reported.

Kurzawa’s marauding nature matches well with the footballing philosophy at Barcelona, which sees the full-backs being heavily involved in build-up play and attack, in general. Add to that his ability to be among the numbers as far as goals and assists are concerned, and it is not strange to see Barcelona considering to pay up in order to get the 25-year-old in the summer.

The only motivation for Kurzawa seeking a move – the player recently sacked his agent and signed with Moussa Sissoko, who has been tasked with the responsibility of finding a suitable new club for the player – is not regular game time, but the prospect of being the undisputed first-choice at a club.

Thus, if Barcelona are able to promise him a key role at the club, Kurzawa would be more than happy to swap PSG for Barcelona in the summer. This deal looks very likely unless other suitors enter the picture, which would then mean Barcelona would have to fend off competition.
