Bayern Munich have beaten the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton to land Feyenoord whizkid Joshua Zirkzee.

According to The Sun, Bayern Munich have landed a major coup of a transfer, beating several top European clubs to land Dutch teenage wonderkid Joshua Zirkzee. The youngster has left Feyenoord to sign a long-term deal for the German champions.

The player joins the club only days after the Germans launched their new state-of-the-art academy facility. The Bavarians have snatched the player from the clutches of Everton after the youngster even represented the Toffees in a youth tournament in Prague.

The aforementioned event had everyone convinced that Ronald Koeman’s side had pulled off a coup beating higher profile clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal. But, as it turns out, even they have been gazumped in the race to sign the talented youngster.

The player is rated as one of the top products to emerge from Holland, having joined Feyenoord from ADO Den Haag the year before. Manchester United were linked with a move for the player mainly due to their recent overtures to add talent from the country to their youth ranks.

Millen Baars has joined while Tahith Chong has already shown promise of being an able future contender for a spot in the first-team setup, which has been on a recruitment drive ever since they have been toppled by neighbours Manchester City as the better academy in the city. Arsenal, too, were looking to beef up their youth setup with a move for Zirkzee.

Everton, though, seemed to have all but won the race, with Zirkzee even playing for the Toffees. However, it seems the player has had a change of heart, deciding to join the German champions instead while Benfica were also interested in the youngster.

The interest of such elite clubs does bode well for the player and highlights the promise his talent possesses – A talent that needs nurturing. Bayern have seen many brilliant players come through the academy and if Zirkzee manages to wow Ancelotti with his talent, he may end up breaking through earlier than expected.

The player has the tools to be a success at this level and the club would hope they are able to convert this unpolished gem into a diamond in the near future.
