Leicester owners are disappointed with the behaviour of Schmeichel after he angled for an exit despite being unavailable for sale.

According to James Nursery of the Daily Mirror, the owners of defending Premier League champions Leicester City are fuming at the behaviour of number one goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

After putting in an impressive performance last season en-route to guiding Leicester to their maiden Premier League crown, Schmeichel is reportedly looking to continue the trend of winning silverware by moving to a bigger club.

Despite being sounded off by Leicester owners, who have informed him that he is not for sale, the player seems to be angling for a move, given the growing interest in his services from some of the best Premier League sides.

Liverpool are among the front-runners to be interested in signing the Dane, as their top two goalkeepers have failed to live up to the billing. After performing exceptionally well in the Bundesliga, Loris Karius was expected to make a mark in the Premier League for the Reds.

Unfortunately for manager Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool faithful, the German has put in a string of disappointing performances, and has lost out on his place in the first team to Simon Mignolet.

The Belgian has not evoked confidence either, but has been slightly better than Karius this season. However, Liverpool desperately need to address their goalkeeping issues, and Schmeichel may fit the bill.

Manchester City are undergoing a similar predicament as manager Pep Guardiola has watched Claudio Bravo and Willy Caballero struggle to make the number one role their own at the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens are in the race for the Leicester stopper along with cross-town rivals Manchester United. Red Devils keeper David de Gea could be on his way out in the summer, and Schmeichel could be roped in to fill in the Spaniard’s boots.

Even La Liga giants Real Madrid, who are closing on de Gea in the summer, could be forced to look elsewhere if Mourinho plays hardball in letting go of his prized asset. Los Blancos are part of the race for Schmeichel as well, and the Dane could be heading to Spain in the summer.

Arsenal, too, could look to sign the Denmark international next season as their first-choice keeper Petr Cech will turn 35 this month. The veteran shot stopper has already started to show signs of ageing and is not as mobile and athletic as he was during his heyday at Chelsea.

Thus, with a number of clubs reportedly interested to sign him, it is a no-brainer that Schmeichel is angling for a move away from the King Power Stadium. All of these club are likely to double his salary and also give him a shot at winning silverware.
