Real Madrid playmaker is reportedly gunning for a contract renewal at Real Madrid having rejected the possibility of moving to Juventus.
Spanish publication AS have reported that Isco and his entourage has given a resounding ‘No’ as the answer to the possibility of a move to Juventus while reiterating the player’s desire to renew his contract at Real Madrid. The report has further added that the playmaker is prepared to fight for his place in the starting lineup and remains hopeful of making it into Zidane’s plans, having started the season on the bench.
There is little reason for Isco to consider leaving Real Madrid, where the Spaniard has been a regular feature in the three seasons after joining from Malaga having appeared in 32, 34 and 31 Liga BBVA appearances out of 38 matches in the three respective terms (stats via whoscored).
Isco’s situation at Real Madrid is a bit strange as Real Madrid were prepared to listen to offers for the Spanish international while they were linked to a move for Paul Pogba, in an attempt to generate cash from the market while also making room for the French superstar.
Los Blancos, however, lost the transfer battle to Manchester United and have since not been able to add a midfielder to the squad. On the other hand, James Rodriguez is reportedly being courted by a trio of Premier League clubs – Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool and in such a scenario of uncertainty looming over the future of the Colombian, Real Madrid are likely to keep Isco at the club.
Juventus, though, are rumoured to be preparing an offer and testing the resolve of Real Madrid and Isco, with the Old Lady considering an offer in the range of €30m and €40m would be enough to convince Madrid to part with the player, having purchased the player from Malaga for a fee around €30m.
It is understood, however, that Isco would be left with no choice but to agree to a move if Real Madrid were to accept an incoming offer as it would signal to the Spaniard’s representatives about the club’s desire to offload the player. But until then, the 24-year-old is set to stay at Santiago Bernabeu and fight for a place in Zidane’s first-team plans.
