Kane wonderstrike sends fans into overdrive, Coquelin slammed by Arsenal supporters for silly red card [Best Tweets]

Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane in one of the most consequential North London derbies in recent memory. While Harry Kane once again starred for the home side, Coquelin’s red card left the visitors with ten men on the pitch.

A draw was not the result either side particularly wanted, with Leicester City capitalising on the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table later in the day.

However, the North London derby yet again proved to be a thrilling affair for neutrals, complete with goals, a red card and plenty of moments of controversy. Spurs striker Harry Kane proved to be the difference maker on Saturday, earning a foul that resulted in Francis Coquelin’s red card, and scoring one of the goals of the season a few minutes later to give the home side a 2-1 lead.

Although Arsenal fought back admirably and earned a point courtesy of Alexis Sánchez’s first Premier League goal since October, the Gunners’ supporters were understandably infuriated with Coquelin’s silly tackle at the start of the second half. Meanwhile, Spurs fans and neutrals alike took to social media to extol Kane’s wonder goal.
