Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returns in the number nine role as Mikel Arteta employs a 4-2-3-1 against Leeds United this evening.

Mikel Arteta has made four changes from the side that succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa before the international break for the upcoming Premier League encounter against Leeds United.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang makes the headline, as he returns to his familiar number nine position after featuring as a winger throughout the campaign so far. He replaces Alexandre Lacazette, which, in turn, has paved the way for Nicolas Pepe to return to the starting lineup.

The Ivorian is set to feature alongside Willian in the wider-attacking position, with Joe Willock operating as a number ten. It essentially means that Arsenal are likely to employ a traditional 4-2-3-1 formation, which has been quite a rare phenomenon under the leadership of Arteta.

There have been two changes in midfield as Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos replace unavailable duo Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny. It will be interesting to see how these two fare alongside each other following a relatively disappointing start to the campaign.

In defence, Rob Holding gets the nod ahead of David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi. The Englishman is set to partner Gabriel Magalhaes at the heart of the four-man backline, with Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin occupying the full-back positions.
