Arsenal will be without Mesut Ozil in their first game of 2017 as the German was reported ill prior to the game.

The Gunners will sorely miss the services of German superstar Mesut Ozil against Crystal Palace as they look to close in on the teams placed above them.

Arsene Wenger has also decided to start with both Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez for the first time in the league this campaign against a Crystal Palace side that’ll have Sam Allardyce in charge for his second game.

The Gunners will look to kick-start the new year on a positive note and with City dropping points at Anfield there is further incentive for Wenger’s men to snatch the initiative.

Besides Ozil Arsenal will also be without the services of Theo Walcott who was ruled out due to a calf injury last week.
