On Friday, Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo was announced as UEFA’s Best Player in Europe ahead of teammate Gareth Bale and Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.

After the UEFA Champions League group stage draws, it was time to declare the award for UEFA’s Best Player in Europe. Last season’s winner Lionel Messi failed to make the cut as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann were nominated as the top three.
