Players’ Disappointment At Everton Draw Is A Good Sign, Says Tottenham Hotspur Boss Mauricio Pochettino

Tottenham Hotspur might have come out of the draw against Everton feeling that they have missed out on two crucial points, but manager Mauricio Pochettino feels that this is a good sign for his young squad.

The Spurs are the youngest squad in the Premier League, and yet they are challenging for the title this season, being just six points adrift of league leaders and arch rivals Arsenal FC. Although they have mostly been written off from the title race and been tipped for a top-four finish, Pochettino’s men are still in it with a good chance.

The two points dropped at Goodison Park would hurt Tottenham Hotspur, but Pochettino believes that it is a good sign for his young squad.

“Maybe tomorrow we will analyse the game and we will feel happy about the point. But today our feeling is that we dropped two points,” said Pochettino as quoted by the Daily Mirror. “This is a very good sign for the future. We are the youngest squad in the Premier League, but we showed our winning mentality.

“I think that in the way we are, all can happen. We believe in the way we play. We are very ambitious.a

Spurs were so sad that they skipped post-match ritual

Normally, the Tottenham Hotspur players are said to play some sort of music after every match. However after the 1-1 draw with Everton, the Spurs players were so disappointed at not winning, that none of them were in the mood for music, says Pochettino.

“Always after the game, we play some music. But today we are very disappointed because we feel we have dropped two points,” he said. However, the sadness is nothing to be worried about, believes Pochettino, as it is a sign of the determination of the players.

“This is good, this is very good. I feel very proud about this squad,” he further said.
