Luis Enrique Praises FC Barcelona Striker Luis Suarez Ahead Of Catalan Derby

With the Catalan derby looming large on the horizon, FC Barcelona would be looking to their ‘MSN’ trio, to heap more misery on their less illustrious opponents. However, Luis Suarez has been in the form of his life, and this is something that has not escaped manager Luis Enrique’s attention.

Suarez forms one-third of the famous ‘MSN’ trio (Messi, Suarez, Neymar), and all the three South American forwards have benefited from each other’s good form this season. Suarez himself has been in terrific form, scoring 15 goals from as many games in the La Liga.

The Uruguayan striker had also managed to get the best player’s award in the recently-concluded FIFA Club World Cup. However, as the Catalan side go into the new year, they are faced with an all too familiar foe, in the form of Espanyol. Enrique though, is confident that Suarez would be able to do well against both Espanyol and all the other sides that Barcelona face.

“I am not surprised by the number of goals Suarez is scoring. He has been a goalscorer all his life and will continue to score goals,” Enrique was quoted saying in Goal.com.

Enrique weary of Atletico challenge

.

While their arch rivals Real Madrid have fallen two points off the pace having played one game more, Atletico Madrid seem to be posing the greater threat to FC Barcelona’s La Liga title challenge. Diego Simeone’s men are level on points with FC Barcelona, having played an extra match, and Enrique says that he is aware that the Red and Whites are in with a strong shout for the title.

“I’m sure that Atletico are candidates for the title,” Enrique said on Goal.com. “They’ve already shown how good they are and I’m sure they’ll challenge for the league.”
