Liverpool FC Set To Recall Welsh Sensation As Injury Crisis Deepens

Following a string of impressive showings, Liverpool FC are set to recall Welsh ‘keeper Danny Ward six months in his loan spell at surprise Scottish title challengers Aberdeen.

Liverpool FC’s goalkeeper crisis appears to be deepening, with Adam Bogdan making recurring mistakes and Simon Mignolet struggling to be fit in time for the clash against Arsenal FC. This could be an opportunity for Danny Ward to seize the gauntlet.

The Hungarian stopper was once again at fault for successive games against Exeter, prompting Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp to recall Ward as per reports in BBC.

With Mignolet not earning rave reviews either, regardless of his injury status, it is likely that Klopp recalled the Welsh stopper to add competition to the Belgian.

The BBC report states:

“The 22-year-old’s final appearance for Aberdeen was in a 1-0 loss to Hearts in the Scottish Cup on Saturday. He was due to be at Pittodrie until the summer and has been an ever present in the first team, keeping 11 clean sheets in 29 appearances. However, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to take him back to Anfield.”

Ward has been in sensational form for the unlikely Scottish League title challengers Aberdeen, who find themselves 2nd in the table.

He has acquired the status of fan favourite at Pittodrie with his strong performances helping Aberdeen climb the Scottish table, having kept 11 clean sheets in 29 games.

The Welsh U21 international was on the bench for the senior national side in recent games, and was on the Liverpool FC bench 19 times last season under Brendan Rodgers.
