Chelsea FC Injury News: Eden Hazard To Undergo MRI Scan After Groin Injury Forces Substitution At Selhurst Park

Eden Hazard suffered yet another injury in Chelsea FC’s 3-0 victory at Crystal Palace on Sunday, and manager Guus Hiddink says that he would not be able to assess the seriousness of the Belgian’s condition till an MRI is conducted on Monday.

Hazard, who was the player of the year last season, has been poor to say the least this time round, failing to score in his last 2,289 minutes on the pitch in all competitions.

The Belgian star has come under some criticism of late for his poor form, and has also been struggling for match fitness. While Hiddink chose to start with Hazard on Sunday against Crystal Palace, the 24-year-old hobbled off after a quarter of an hour, as he seemed to have pulled his groin.

“Hazard sprained his leg, he has a little problem with a groin muscle,” said Hiddink in the post match press conference, according to FourFourTwo. “We will see more with an MRI scan tomorrow.”

Hiddink not getting carried away with win

It might have been an emphatic 3-0 victory for Chelsea FC, but Hiddink is not someone who is getting carried away by this result. The defending champions are languishing in 14th spot on the Premier League table, and there seems to be a lot of problems that the Dutchman needs to sort out.

“Do not go over the top. It is the first win after a worrying period with two draws so the team desperately needed the win and it was convincing,” said Hiddink. “Everyone knows we have a lot of quality in our team, but sometimes champions have a tendency to be complacent and it can be difficult to get back and then wonder why we were champions.
