A floodlight-failure might have delayed the kickoff of the 2018 World Cup Qualifier between India and Guam, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, in Bengaluru, but that did not stop the fans from unfurling a new record in Asian football history.
The fans unveiled a huge 5,200 square feet banner at the stadium, creating an Asian football record. This is said to be the biggest banner unfurled in the history of the sport in Asia.

India won the match with a solo Robin Singh effort that thundered against under-side of the cross-bar, and into the goal. Even the 25-year-old forward was thankful to the fans for this great banner. It was a great show of support from the Indian fans, as many went out to cheer for their national side on a rainy evening in Bengaluru. The big banners, the array of flags, and the melee of painted faces is something that one normally expects in a football match in Europe.

It was a great show for the Indian team, who did not disappoint the fans as they managed to get their first win of the 2018 World Cup Qualifiers. India are still at the bottom of their group, but this win would go a long way in giving them some hope of getting some points on the board and climbing up the FIFA Rankings.
