Reports have once again emerged claiming Manchester United‘s Juan Mata could return to La Liga with former club Valencia.

The 26-year-old Manchester United attacking midfielder has been rumoured to be a transfer target for the Spanish club and the Mirror reported that owner Peter Lim and president Amadeo Salvo were in Manchester at the weekend, where they made it clear Mata is a transfer target. John Cross reported for the outlet: Valencia owner Peter Lim and president Amadeo Salvo were on a trip to Manchester last weekend and have made it their mission to try and sign Mata.

The Spanish club are going to make a A?20m bid for the player, which will definitely make a few in the Manchester United management raise their eyebrows. The 26 year old was signed for A?37m in January 2014 by David Moyes to help the club’s falling standards last season. But since the arrival of Louis van Gaal and Angel Di Maria, the former Chelsea player has found himself receded to the bench on many occassions. He performed outstandingly against Spurs last weekend, which was his first start in more than two months.

There is interest in Angel di Maria from PSG as well so United will probably end up selling one of the two players for a loss It is likely that it is Mata who is sent out ahead of the British record signing di Maria.

Despite the lack of footballing action, Mata is big favourite among United fans.

Los Che identify the Spain international as a part of their long term plans and the club officials are prepared to offer him a lucrative four-year deal to sign for the club for a second time.

These reports were made in September last year as well so interest in Mata has been there for a while now. At the time, Valencia were subject to a takeover by Singapore-based billionaire Peter Lim (who has previously attempted to buy Liverpool) and since then, it has been rumored that Mata is part of the wishlist of the Spanish team.

It was reported in February by Mundo Deportivo that Barcelona were also considering a making a move for the former Chelsea attacker, but due to their transfer ban, they would only be able to do it in January 2016.
