‘Sergio Ramos Loves Real Madrid, Sure To Stay’: Pepe

. Real Madrid defender Pepe is certain that Sergio Ramos will stay at the Santiago Bernabeu this summer despite interest from Manchester United.

Manchester United had earlier tabled a bid of A?28.6 million for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, which was rejected immediately by the Los Blancos.

Securing a defender is on top of the cluba s agenda, with Sergio Ramos said to be their priority target.

Reports emerging from Spanish Paper Marca recently claimed that the English club want Sergio Ramos to push for a move away from Real Madrid and make his stance publicly clear following recent quotes by manager Rafael Benitez that the player is certain to stay at the club with president Fiorentino Perez also set to meet him in order to persuade him to stay.

‘Sergio Ramos loves Real Madrid and will stay’

Defender Pepe has come out and said that he cannot see Ramos leaving his beloved club and is ‘sure’ that the Spanish international will chose to stay.

“I’m fine and I don’t think any of us are thinking about what might happen if Sergio leaves us. He’s our captain.”

“I’m sure that he’s going to stay with us because he loves the club so much and his teammates. There’s nothing unusual when we speak, everything is normal. I hope he stays, he’s a reference for us,” Pepe was quoted saying to AS.

Sergio Ramos has yet to be offered a contract extension by Los Blancos with his current deal expiring in 2017, but recent reports claim that they will do so once the player publicly declares his intentions to stay at the Spanish giants.

What this means for De Geaa s move to Real Madrid?

When asked about De Geaa s move to Real Madrid, Benitez had earlier refused to get drawn into the topic. He said: a Ita s very simple, De Gea is not our player so nothing to say about him.a

David de Gea was widely expected to swap Old Trafford for the Bernabeu this summer after the goalkeeper refused a reported A?200,000-per-week offer to stay at Manchester United.

It was also reported earlier by reliable papers like the Times, that Manchester United were all but resigned to losing their goalkeeper and believe that only a u-turn equivalent to what Wayne Rooney did to sign a contract in 2010 will prevent the Spain goalkeeper from joining Real Madrid.

However, the deal seemed to have now hit a roadblock, with Manchester United refusing to let the player go for the reported 30 million Euro that has been offered by Real Madrid unless they get Sergio Ramos.

Reports in the Telegraph said that Manchester United had taken a very hard stance, making it clear to Real Madrid that they are prepared to run down the contract of David De Gea, which has only one year to go, rather than selling them the goalkeeper this season should they not allow them to secure Sergio Ramos.

With reports now suggesting Sergio Ramos is more or less certain to stay at Real Madrid, the club will have to wait for another year to get the Manchester United goalkeeper.
