Red-Hot La Liga Striker Confirms Liverpool’s Rumored A?12m Interest; Open To Summer Anfield Move

Liverpool target Luciano Vietto has admitted hea s open to moving to Anfield at the end of the season.

Brendan Rodgers has wanted Vietto at Anfield for quite a few months now. There has been constant links with the player and in December, it was reported that the Reds wanted the a newa Sergio Aguero to replace old Kop idol, Luis Suarez.

It won’t be an easy task for the Merseyside team as there is also interest from European giants Real Madrid and Inter Milan.

The 21 year old is in sensational form at the moment and has scored 11 goals and grabbed 2 assists in 23 appearances for Villareal, with 10 of those coming from the bench. He also has five goals and 4 assists in eight Europa League matches. In total, the Argentinean has 16 goals and 6 assists in all competitions, an outstanding number. No Liverpool player has managed as many goals this season as Vietto.

Liverpool have kept track of the player’s progress by sending regular scouting teams and are reported to be lining up a A?12million bid.

And Vietto has now said that he would be keen on studying these offers, for him.

a If these great teams come forward and make an offer wea ll see,a he told AS about Liverpoola s interest

a The offer would first have to be very good, but it would be very good for me and good for Villarreal.a

The Argentinean was a Liverpool target in the past. In fact, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Arsenal, Manchester City, Everton, Inter, Napoli, Udinese, Sevilla, Valencia, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain were all reportedly interested in the player, but he instead ended up joining Spanish side Villarreal in a A?4.85million switch last August. Liverpool have expectedly been linked to him again as a result of his scintillating current form, but the price is naturally almost three times higher.

Vietto can score with both feet and his head. He loves to take on opponents and has great tactical awareness and vision of the game. His reading of the game is his biggest asset. Besides being incredibly talented, he is also very hard-working and is a team player, a huge quality in modern-day strikers.

“He is fast, makes smart moves and shoots the ball well with both feet,” Diego Simeone said about Vietto. Simeone was the one who gave the youngster his first team debut for Racing Club in Argentina.

He would be an incredible buy for Liverpool, if it does happen for the Reds. The chase is going to be very difficult but Brendan Rodgers and co. should go all out and try to land this gifted footballer as he can be a big player in the near future. With two of Fabio Borini, Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert expected to be shipped off in the summer, Vietto will be an ideal fit for the Liverpool side and would fight Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi for a first-team spot. His comments will definitely give the Liverpool management some hope.
