Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 300th goal for Real Madrid as the Los Blancos secured a 2-0 win over Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday. Ronaldo was booked for diving into the penalty box by the referee but coach Carlo Ancelotti said after the game that the punishment for his star player is a unbelievablea .

Prior to Real Madrid, FC Barcelona had eased passed behind Almeria to open a gap of 7 points at the top of the table. But the Real Madrid dominated the proceedings from start to end to secure an easy win against Rayo.

As claimed by him earlier, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti started the game with both, Isco and James, in his squad with Bale out injured. Rayo gave Real Madrid a run for their money in the first half but the Los Blancos never lost their cool.

Real Madrid put in a commanding display in the second half as Ronaldo scored through a brilliant header, followed by a nicely taken goal by James Rodriguez.

Ronaldo had a game to remember as he gave continuous troubles to the Rayo defenders. Rayo defender Antonio Amaya took Ronaldo down in the penalty area but the referee booked the CR7 for diving and handed him a yellow card.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti described Ronaldo yellow as a unbelievablea and blasted the referee for his mistake.

“I told the referee that I thought it was unbelievable not to give a penalty when he instead called it the other way,” Carlo Ancelotti said of the yellow card, which rules Ronaldo out of Real Madrid’s next match.

Ancelotti also defended his decision to start Isco and James together.

“James being selected ahead of Isco was purely a choice for this specific game,” he added. “I thought James would contribute better to the team this time and went for him, but every game can have a different line-up.”

Meanwhile, James Rodriguez, who was also on a score sheet for Real Madrid, rued the decision of referee to hand a yellow card to Ronaldo.
