Ramos Wants To Quit Real Madrid For Manchester United: Confirmed

Manchester United have received a boost in their chase for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos as Sky Sports confirmed the defender wants to join the Red Devils.

The Spanish defender has been disgruntled at the club for a while now and the last few days saw a lot of reports emerging claiming he was looking to quit the club at the wake of Florentino Perez not increasing his wages. The reason for Ramos’s disgruntlement is not just that as he is extremely disappointed at the manner in which he and his brother have been treated by the club recently, “about being portrayed as a money-grabber”. He was further irked at the club not dismissing the story that he had been offered to Barcelona

Sky Sports now confirmed: Manchester United have made a bid of A?28.6m for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, according to Sky sources. Sky sources also understand that Ramos has told Madrid he wants to leave the club and join Louis van Gaal’s side. .

This comes after Marca already reported that the Spaniard has told Real Madrid to listen to any offers that come for him, especially that of Manchester United. The player met with Managing Director Jose Angel Sanchez last Wednesday.

Sky Sports Spanish football expert Graham said that Ramos could well be playing in the Premier League for United next season. He said, “Ramos has told Madrid directly that he is absolutely and completely committed to leaving the club this summer, that he specifically wants them to begin negotiations with Manchester United and that he doesn’t want them to negotiate with anybody except Manchester United. But it is a very firm display of intention from Manchester United. In Ramos they want someone who will form part of a firm spine of the team, who knows how to win, who has experience of winning, adding character and talent to what we saw was a regeneration under Louis van Gaal last season.”

In Ramos, Manchester United will get a good spine to their weak defence (which was seen last year). Even though Ramos didn’t have a particularly good last season, his abilities are unquestionable. He could be the sturdy rock van Gaal needs in his side to challenge Chelsea and City for the title.
