PSG Lining Up A ai??i??50 Million Bid For Manchester United Star Di Maria

PSG are planning to submit a massive player plus cash bid to sign Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria, according to French radio station RMC.

After spending four seasons with Real Madrid, Angel Di Maria was signed by Manchester United in one of the biggest transfer moves last summer. While he made a good start to his life in the Premier League, his performances faded away in the second half of the season. The Argentine international came under some criticism from both fans and experts, although most expect him to be back to his best next season.

The former Benfica star has however been a subject of lot speculations, which goes along at this time of the year. Initially it was Bayern Munich, who were linked with a move for the 27-year-old. With Manchester Uniteda s reported interest in Thomas Muller, Bayern are hoping to land Angel Di Maria in exchange.

According to French radio station RMC, PSG have also joined the race for his signature. The Ligue 1 champions tried to sign Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid last summer, but were left handicapped by UEFAa s decision to impose FFP. However those restrictions has now been lifted by the governing body and PSG are hoping to accomplish what they failed to, in the last transfer window.

RMC claim that the Paris based club are willing to offer a 50m plus right back Gregory van der Wiel for the Manchester United winger. The English club are in the market for a new full-back and have been previously linked with van der Wiel. However, the Red Devils are now close to completing the signing of Matteo Darmian from Torino, for a fee of A?12.9 million, and are unlikely to pursue another full-back. The French club however does have a lot of other world class players that might interest Manchester United, although it seems highly unlikely that Louis van Gaal will sell Di Maria after just one season at Old Trafford.

PSG manager Laurent Blanc, who lead his team to a domestic quadruple last season, has stated his intent to a regeneratea the squad this summer. He stressed on the importance of brining in new players in order to keep the team motivated after the successful campaign.

.

“We want to regenerate the team, add more competition in certain positions and, in terms of whether people leave or not, we’ll act. If we manage to do what we want to do, I think we’ll be very competitive in France, of course, but also in Europe. All the supporters are expecting that.

“When a squad has won like ours has, you have to try to motivate it differently, and also regenerate it a little. To welcome players who have not experienced those recent trophies, who have that will to win, would be a good thing.

“I hope we’ll manage to do what we want in that respect. It’s not always easy, but we’re working on it every day. We have had good news concerning financial fair play, we’ll be less hampered than we had thought, which is important to take into account. That changes quite a lot of things.” a The PSG manager said.
