Neymar’s Father Confirms Manchester United Offer For FC Barcelona Star

Neymar’s proposed move to Manchester United was more than just rumours, as per the father of the FC Barcelona star.

Neymar had been linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer. The FC Barcelona star’s camp came out and stated that the player will retire at the Catalan outfit, such is his loyalty to the club.

Neymar’s father confirms United offer

Neymar Jr.’s father has confirmed that the striker was indeed subject of interest from Manchester United, with the Red Devils even launching an offer for him.

He was quoted saying by Goal.com: “The offer reached Barcelona and the club contacted us saying they were not going to sell [Neymar].

“They asked if we were interested, but that wasn’t the case. Barcelona are not selling, he has three years still to go on his contract.

“It was Manchester’s deal, but that offer is not on the table now, it has fallen through.”

Neymar was one of the standout players as the Blaugrana won a unique treble of the Champions League, La Liga and the Spanish Cup.

He was also the joint top-scorer in the UEFA Champions League, and if Manchester United were to sign him in the near future, it will be a major coup, with the Brazil star touted to be the future Ballon D’Or winner.

However, it is easier said than done, with United no longer – with all due respect – commanding the same reputation as they did in their heydays under Sir Alex Ferguson.

.

However, the club have now adopted a policy to pay over the top to attract top players, with the likes of Angel Di Maria and Juan Mata signing for the club for a hefty fee in the past 18 months.

The only chance the club have to lure Neymar Jr. to Old Trafford is by paying a crazy amount of fee and wages.
