Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has confirmed that Michael Carrick and Luke Shaw will be unavailable against Burnley at Old Trafford on Wednesday night. Carrick suffered a calf muscle injury in the days leading up to his side’s encounter with Leicester City and will be out till the end of this month. The midfielder was out with an ankle injury prior to that which he had picked up United’s goalless draw against Cambridge United in the 4th Round of the FA Cup more than a fortnight ago. Left back Luke Shaw, meanwhile, got sent off for two bookable offences against West Ham at the weekend and he will serve a one-match suspension. Speaking at his pre-match interview with MUTV ahead of the Burnley match, Van Gaal revealed his options as he said, a Only Michael Carrick is injured.
