Manchester United Reported To Chase Arsenal FC, Liverpool FC Target Ayoze Perez’s Signature In January?

Manchester United have not been particularly good in front of goal this season, and that has reflected in their fan’s chants — “Attack! Attack! Attack!” Thus there have been strong rumours linking manager Louis van Gaal’s side to a move for Ayoze Perez in the January Transfer window itself.

The Red Devils have been woeful in on the goalscoring front, with main striker Wayne Rooney having netted just twice from 11 Premier League appearances. 19-year-old wonderkid Anthony Martial, who was signed AS Monaco in the summer, has been impressive, but van Gaal prefers to play him out wide, which has resulted in the Frenchman scoring just thrice from seven Premier League appearances.

While being solid defensively, Manchester United have also not been able to score many goals, which could point at a possible January bid for an attacking player. There is a very high chance that van Gaal is eyeing 22-year-old Newcastle forward Ayoze Perez, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Manchester United faces stiff competition for Ayoze’s signature

With the likes of Tottenham Hotspur FC, Arsenal FC, and Liverpool Fc scouting Ayoze as well, it seems like a difficult task for Manchester United to land the Spaniard.

.

However, one factor that could play into their hands is the fact that most of these clubs would not be looking to sign him till summer 2016, while the Red Devils are reported to be trying to sign him in the winter transfer window itself.

Newcastel, who bought Ayoze for a nominal fee of A?1.7 million, would be only too happy to sell him, as they have done with some of their other players, on previous occasions. Ayoze could solve a lot of van Gaal’s problems, as he can play anywhere in the top-four of the Dutchman’s favourite 4-2-3-1 formation. This means that he can play on either wing, as the striker, or as the No. 10, behind the striker.
