Manchester City Plan To Raid Arsenal For World-class Midfielder

Though Mirror revealed Manchester City interest in Jack Wilshere, whose name often goes synonymous with loyalty, not a lot of eyebrows were raised as the Citizens are known to drain the London outfit of their talent. Under various managers, the Etihad Stadium club have attracted Samir Nasri, Emmanuel Adebayor and the likes and it comes as no surprise that they are coming for yet another Arsenal player.

Recent downturn in fortunes of Manchester City has made major reconstruction of the squad inevitable as Yaya Toure and the other under-achievers are believed to be shown the exit door. An overhaul also means that Manuel Pellegrini would lose this home-grown players in Frank Lampard and James Milner insisting on the need for players akin to Jack Wilshere.

The English international perfectly fits the bill as he could help them meet home-grown player quota while also offering quality football simultaneously unlike his compatriots Scott Sinclair and Jack Rodwell, who donned the Manchester City shirt only for the club to escape the wrath of Football Association. In addition to his undoubted quality, he could also prove to relieve the Manchester based club off their midfield woes for a decade in the event of his staying fit.

Jordan Henderson and Fabian Delph, who topped their wish-list for the summer, have recently pledged his long-term future to their respective clubs signaling the need to lure Jack Wilshere to the blue half of Manchester.

Having spent majority of the season on the sidelines, the midfielder allowed Santi Cazorla and the likes rise in prominence. Despite his obvious talent and class, he is no more an automatic starter at Arsenal while a move to Manchester City could restore his status as a first-team regular.

Arsene Wenger tried to fend off Manchester City interest in the 23-year-old as he stated that he would never be sold. The French manager, however, has other issues to be addressed in the summer and Jack Wilshere monies could prove to be decisive for a crack at the Premier League title next campaign.
