Van Gaal Has Banished Another Striker From Manchester United

Manchester United FC have not managed to find the back of the net as often as they’d like this season, and the dearth of attacking options in the squad could be one of the reasons. However, Louis van Gaal has just let another striker leave the club.

19-year-old Manchester United academy product James Wilson, who has found himself on the bench in numerous United games this season, and is being touted as a genuine talent, has been loaned to Championship club Brighton and Hove Albion FC, according to goal.com.

This is an utterly perplexing move by the manager seeing as he has had a dearth of strikers throughout this campaign, with Anthony Martial and out-of-form captain Wayne Rooney being the only recognized strikers in the first team.

Exodus of strikers

This summer saw Louis van Gaal sell much-loved Mexican striker Javier ‘Chicarito’ Hernandez to German club Bayer Leverkusen, as well as loan out young Belgian prospect Adnan Januzaj to Borussia Dortmund. That has left him with a depleted strike force, which looks even more thin now that James Wilson has also moved away on loan.

The shortage of goals being scored by the Red Devils has already caused a lot of negative sentiment to build up against the Dutchman, and this latest move by him is sure to be met with further rage.
