Liverpool Target Gonzalo Higuain Happy At Napoli, Claims Agent

Gonzalo Higuain‘s agent has dismissed reports of his client moving anywhere this January and has maintained that the Argentinean is happy at the Italian club.

In the absence of Luis Suarez who went away to Barcelona and Daniel Sturridge, out with injury (still out) Liverpool have horribly fallen short of goals and amidst such conditions, reports suggesting the Reds were keen on bringing the summer addition back to Anfield weren’t surprising.

Italian duo Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini are yet to open their account in the Premier League and Daniel Sturridge has appeared in just three games due to recurring injuries since September. Rickie Lambert has scored once and isna t a regular starter.

Gonzalo Higuain has earned the reputation as one of the deadliest strikers of the world football. He also enjoys one of the best goal scoring ratios in Europe. He has ten league goals along with four assists for Napoli this season.

There have been various reports suggesting the World Cup finalist could move to Liverpool this month especially after the arrival of Italian forward Manolo Gabbiadini from Sampdoria last week.

Higuain’s brother and agent has dismissed reports linking the Argentina striker to Liverpool, claiming he is happy at Napoli.

He told Italian radio station Crc, a Do Liverpool want Higuain? I dona t speak English, just Italian, French and Spanish. I havena t spoken to any club, firstly because they havena t called me and secondly because it would be disrespectful to Napoli, it wouldna t be fair.

a [Napoli President Aurelio] De Laurentiis is a great person, a man of honour and I couldna t behave incorrectly. Wea re not thinking about leaving Napoli.a Ia m confident that the team can make third place [and qualify for the Champions League], then wea ll see about Gonzaloa s future.a I havena t spoken with any team, Gonzalo is calm, he has a contract with Napoli and hea s not planning to leave because hea s happy. We have to fight for third place.a
