Liverpool FC continued their astonishing away form under new manager JA?rgen Klopp with an emphatic 6-1 win at Southampton in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup on Wednesday. Southampton took the lead in the first minute of the game courtesy of Sadio Man , but the Reds fought back impressively to register their biggest win yet under Klopp.
Daniel Sturridge, who returned from injury in the Premier League win over Swansea City last weekend, scored an impressive brace and got a solid hour of football under his belt. Meanwhile, Belgian Divock Origi scored a hat-trick and made his case for being part of the Reds’ starting line-up in the coming fixtures.

The Liverpool FC manager was delighted to see England international Daniel Sturridge on the scoresheet, revealing after the game that he finally realised the quality that the 26-year-old possesses. Klopp was also impressed with the performance of Origi, but believes both him and Sturridge have plenty of room for improvement.
“Maybe Daniel can be better,” the 48-year-old is quoted as saying by the Guardian. “Write that. JA?rgen said maybe he could be much better. I said to him after the game: a Now I know what everybody is talking about.a I knew about his quality but not live in a stadium.”
Klopp also reserved words of praise for hat-trick hero Origi, saying: “We had a talk. Ita s not too often that we agree in everything but I said he had learn this and that, dona t make this too difficult, and he said, a Yes, I know.’ Tonight he did everything simple, easy passes and finishes and movement. He got some good passes, but hea s still young and has to learn.”
Stoke City will be difficult semi-final opponents — Klopp

Given the remaining teams left in the competition, it would be safe to say that the Merseysiders got the kindest possible semi-final draw. Liverpool FC will face Stoke City in the penultimate round of the competition, with Everton drawn against league leaders Manchester City.
However, Klopp believes the semi-final tie will be a difficult one for his team. “We have Stoke in the semi-final,a he said. a I had a few semi-finals in my life and there was never an easy one. Stoke will want to be in this final as much as possible.
“Therea s more confidence to the team but we cana t dream. We have to work. If somebody thinks ita s an easy game against Newcastle on Sunday a ita s really difficult to go there after two daysa break and play again. Hard work. But this game, ita s really good.”
