Jurgen Klopp To Take A Break After Borussia Dortmund Exit Despite Liverpool Rumours

Former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to take a break from football despite Liverpool links.

Jurgen Klopp resigned from his role as Borussia Dortmund manager and is now available as a free agent. Since he announced his resignation in April, the German has been linked with managerial jobs at various clubs. Recently, the German has been heavily linked to replace Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool.

However, Klopp has decided to take a sabbatical from football. The former Dortmund manager has not revealed the duration of his break and intends to look back at the memories of the last seven years.

“After seven intense and emotional years, I think it’s a good idea to let the numerous memories settle in before I take on a new challenge with my team refreshed and motivated,” said Klopp.

“I’m going to take a break until further notice,” he added.

Klopp managed Borussia Dortmund for the last time on Saturday in the DFB Pokal final. The managera s last match in-charge ended in disappointment as Dortmund lost 3-1 to Wolfsburg, who went on to lift the German Cup.

In his seven years in-charge at Borussia Dortmund, Klopp went on to win the Bundesliga twice, the German Cup once and helped the club reach Champions League final in 2013. Jurgen Klopp will be replaced by former Mainz manager Thomas Tuchel.

It will be interesting to see how long Jurgen Kloppa s break lasts. The German manager was linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool. But with Klopp deciding to take a break, it seems like Liverpool will have to continue with Brendan Rodgers while Real Madrid will most likely appoint Benitez as the manager in coming days.
