Jurgen Klopp Hoping To Lure Highly Rated Former Borussia Dortmund Coach To Liverpool FC

Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp has offered highly rated former Borussia Dortmund youth coach David Wagner a role at Anfield, as per reports in ESPN FC.

Liverpool FC have had a tremendous number of young players coming through of late, and manager Jurgen Klopp wants to take them to the next level, if his work with Borussia Dortmund is of any indication.

Klopp looking to reunite with Wagner

The German manager at the helm of Liverpool FC is looking to reunite with the former Dortmund U-23 manager, who resigned earlier on Monday.

The ESPN FC report says:

.

‘Wagner is a highly-rated coach in Germany after the work he has done at Dortmund and new Liverpool boss Klopp, who spent seven years in charge of BVB, is keen to be reunited with him on Merseyside.

The pair enjoy a close working and personal relationship, with Klopp godfather to Wagner’s youngest daughter and Wagner performing best man duties at Klopp’s wedding.’

Klopp has already bought in two of his close aides from Borussia Dortmund in Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz at Liverpool FC and is looking to get another one in Wagner as he continues to reshape the backroom staff following the departure of Brendan Rodgers and his backroom crew.

The battle to sign Wagner will see the Reds lock horns with other Bundesliga sides, with the ESPN FC report mentioning that several other clubs in the German league are looking to snap up the former Dortmund man.

However, with Klopp enjoying a close relationship with his former colleague, the club will be hoping that it tilts the decision in their favor.
