Injury Forces Arsenal FC’s Theo Walcott Out Of Crucial FC Bayern Munich, Tottenham Hotspur FC Ties

The League Cup Round of 16 match was not the only thing that Arsenal FC lost on Tuesday night, against Sheffield Wednesday FC. Now, it has been revealed that the Gunners are set to lose out on the services of forward Theo Walcott, who is set to be out for at least three weeks.

This essentially means that Walcott would most certainly be missing a crucial phase of three matches for Arsenal, when the Gunners play the likes of Swansea City FC, FC Bayern Munich, and arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur FC, according to Daily Telegraph.

With this injury, Walcott joins a long list of walking wounded, at the Gunners’ camp, with the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Alex Olxade-Chamberlain, Danny Welbeck, Mikel Arteta, David Ospina, and Tomas Rosicky already out with injuries.

Arsenal are currently joint top of the Premier League with Manchester City, only behind the latter on goal difference, which makes the league matches must-win for the Gunners. On the flip side, Arsenal FC are currently third in Champions League Group F, behind FC Bayern Munich and Olympiacos FC, and need to get points on the board, in order to qualify for the Round of 16.

Arsenal FC boss Arsene Wenger has been alternating between Walcott and Frenchman Olivier Giroud as his options up front, and both the players have divided the goal scoring responsibility, netting six times each, this season.

However, in the absence of Waclott, the entire responsibility would fall on the shoulder of Giroud, in this stretch of important matches. Wenger could also call upon the services of 19-year-old Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi, who has impressed of late, in the junior level matches, to share Girouda s burden.

Interestingly, Iwobi had scored a brace against the junior team of FC Bayern Munich, in the UEFA Youth League, last week. If hea s given the chance, would he be able to do it again (this time against the senior team)? Only time will tell.
