Liverpool FC star Philippe Coutinho has responded to Neymar’s comments inviting him to join FC Barcelona by stating that he appreciated his comments suggesting that he would fit in well at Camp Nou, but is totally focused on doing well at Anfield.

Earlier in September, Neymar’s comments had Liverpool FC fans fearing that yet another star would soon leave Anfield, with the Barcelona superstar stating that Coutinho will fit in nicely at Camp Nou.

Coutinho himself had earlier spoken about how he and Neymar were great friends and the English weather was not something he enjoyed, in an interview to the BBC.

Coutinho happy with Liverpool FC

Rejecting Neymar’s suggestion to join him at Camp Nou, Coutinho pledged his loyalty to the Anfield side.

“I heard what Neymar said on the internet but I want to do well with Liverpool,” he was quoted as saying by Goal.com

“I am happy here and I hope this season will go well for us. Of course it is a nice thing he [Neymar] said. Everyone knows he’s my friend.

.

“But I’m here and focused on Liverpool to help them do good things on the pitch, starting with beating Everton on Sunday.”

Liverpool FC have lost Luis Suarez as well as Raheem Sterling in the last two transfer windows, prompting boss Brendan Rodgers to build his team around the talented Brazilian star.

While Liverpool FC fans have long feared that a player of his talent will leave for greener pastures sooner or later, the latest comments from Coutinho will calm some nerves down.

Coutinho was one of the few shining lights in what was a poor 2014-15 season and has been a central figure in most of the few good things the Anfield side have been doing this season.
