Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been fined A?25,000 by the FA for his comments claiming there is a “campaign” against his club.

Jose Mourinho made his comments on 28th December when Chelsea were denied a clear penalty by referee Anthony Taylor and Cesc Fabregas was booked for diving to earn the spot kick.

The FA rules Jose Mourinhoa s quotes were a improper and brought the game into disreputea .

A statement on the FA’s website confirmed the fine on Jose Mourinho. However, the Chelsea boss, who was warned about his future conduct by the FA, is not given a touchline ban by the governing body.

“The Independent Regulatory Commission found the comments were a breach of FA Rule E3 in that they were improper and brought the game into disrepute,” read the statement of FA.

“The Commission did not, however, find that the comments implied bias on the part of a referee or referees.

“Mr. Jose Mourinho, who had requested a non-personal hearing, was also warned as to his future conduct.”

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho sparked a big controversy on 28th December when he launched a scathing attack on referees and the FA.

After the game against Newcastle United, Jose Mourinho told BBC Sport: “The media, commentators, other managers are all doing it [putting pressure on referees].”

“There is a campaign against Chelsea. I don’t know why there is this campaign and I do not care.

“Everybody knows it was a penalty. The referee made a mistake, people make mistakes and he made a big mistake. He is a good referee and a good guy, he is young, he has years and years of football ahead of him but it is a big mistake.”

Cesc Fabregas, who was the victim of referee Anthony Taylora s a wrong calla , also chose to back Jose Mourinho in his interview later.

Fabregas said: “There was definitely a contact, the referee didn’t have the best game of his life and I don’t think he will sleep that well tonight, he had an awful game.”
