Chelsea, have agreed a A?23 million fee to secure the services of Fiorentina winger and one of the hottest prospects in Europe, Juan Cuadrado. According to English Dailies, Chelsea although have agreed the base sum, Cuadrado’s move to Stamford Bridge lingers due to the inclusion of Mohammad Salah, in the deal. Cuadrado’s move to London, hinges on whether Salah fancies taking up a six month long loan deal to Fiorentina.
Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado, has been an attraction for many top European club sides. The fleet footed winger, has been a standout player for the Viola. Cuadrado,26, signed a contract last season which included a buy out clause of 35 million euros. This has alerted many teams across Europe and Fiorentina’s manager Vincenzo Montella, was quick enough to exhibit this.
Montella said, “He’s got a buyout clause that he signed with the club, but if any club comes in and pays that, he will leave even in the final days of the transfer window,”
“That is, of course, if he wants to leave.
“Sadly that’s the way it is. For me and for the club, though, Cuadrado is a player who we cannot do without.”
Although, Chelsea can meet Cuadrado’s buy-out clause, the London based club has tempted Fiorentina with an offer, which will see Chelsea outcast Mohammad Salah, move to the Italian outfit, on a six month long loan deal.
However, Chelsea have also told Fiorentina, that they are ready to meet Cuadrado’s buy-out clause, if things don’t go their way.
Meanwhile, Juan Cuadrado looks to become a Chelsea player before the end of this year’s winter transfer window. The cog remains, Mohammad Salah. The Egyptian has been a fringe player at Chelsea and has been linked to many Serie A clubs such as Inter Milan and AS Roma.
Thus, in an attempt to thwart competition, Fiorentina require the services of Salah. However, Salah, has his heart set upon a dream move to Italian giants AS Roma and does not believe in replacing Cuadrado at Fiorentina.
This has been the cause of delay, in Cuadrado’s transfer to Chelsea, as The Express understands.
Nonetheless, if Cuadrado joins Chelsea, then the Blues will have depth in their attacking department. The Colombian International, is capable of playing as a winger and as a wingback. Mourinho’s love for players who track back to near perfection, has been exposed long ago and Cuadrado, is perhaps one of the players, who accommodates both, attacking flair and defensive solidity.
