Arsenal FC take on Liverpool FC at the Emirates stadium on Monday night and Arsene Wenger shared some explosive views in the pre-match press conference.
Coming on the back of a stuttering start to their campaign, the Gunners would be looking to stamp their authority against Liverpool FC. Arsenal were touted as title challengers before the start of the season; however, the Emirates outfit suffered a shock defeat to West Ham in their opening fixture of the league campaign.
Wenger takes a dig at Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur .
Arsene Wenger took an apparent dig on arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC during the press conference. When questioned if the Frenchman feels that the Gunners will lag behind due to the pro-active transfer activity of some of their rivals, Wenger brought to light his side of the story and explained how this whole scenario had played out the last time he was questioned.
Tottenham Hotspur had signed 7 players in the 2013/14 transfer window while Liverpool FC have also signed a huge amount of players in the last two summer windows. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, as quoted by the club’s official website, Wenger said:
“I was asked this question two years ago when some clubs bought 10 players [and people said] a How do you feel, you have no chance nowa . What you want is to focus on your own strengths and make sure that you develop your team. The cohesion, the style of play that everybody knows are important qualities. We live in a society that is hungry for news and news is good, I can understand that. But you have to absolutely be convinced that it strengthens your team.”

Arsenal FC have been linked with a move for a striker for the last couple of windows. However, the club have failed to recruit a star forward capable of usurping Giroud from the starting spot. The North London club have once again been linked with a host of names, but a transfer is yet to materialize.
Wenger shared his thoughts on the apparent striker crisis across the world. The Frenchman reiterated that while one part of his job requires him to acknowledge all the suggestions, the other part of involves him to exercise his prudence and act accordingly.
“I listen to everybody but my job is to make decisions, to select and make decisions. Even if I look everywhere and listen to everybody at the end of the day I have to make the decisions. If I just listen to peoplea s opinion, many players who have signed here starting with Vieira, Anelka and Henry would never have signed here at the end of the day. I have to make the decisions.”
