Arsenal FC Torn To Shreds On Twitter After 4-0 Thumping By Southampton

Five days after their impressive 2-1 win over fellow title contenders Manchester City, Arsenal were humbled 4-0 by Southampton at the St. Mary’s stadium on Boxing Day.

Arsene Wenger’s men looked completely out of sorts against a Saints outfit that had lost 4 of its last 5 matches in the Barclays Premier League.

The Gunners went behind in the 19th minute after Southampton right back Cuco Martina, making his first start for the club, drilled a 30 yard pile driver into the Petr Cech’s bottom corner. Subsequent goals from Shane Long (2) and Jose Fonte condemned Arsenal to their worst League defeat of the season thusfar.

As a result of their 4-0 humbling at the hands of Southampton, Arsenal blew their chance to go top of the league after table toppers Leicester City fell to just their second defeat of the campaign at Anfield.

Twitter launched a no holds barred assault on the Gunners after their shambolic display on the night. Here is how they reacted.
