Arsenal Get Transfer Boost As Krychowiak Switches Agents, Move Looks Likely After Comments

Arsenal have been linked with Sevilla’s Grzegorz Krychowiak, and recent developments make the move look extremely likely at the moment.

Arsene Wenger was boosted by the presence of Coquelin in the second half of last season as the young Frenchman performed exceptionally in the defensive midfielder role for the club but the manager knows he needs to reinforce that department if he has a shot at competing with Chelsea, Manchester City . and Manchester United for the title next season.

Arsenal have been vigorously linked with Sevilla’s Grzegorz Krychowiak recently.

The Gunners have been linked with Morgan Schneiderlin for a very long time but due to the Saintsa heavy asking price for the France international, they are expected to pull out of the race for the player making Manchester United his primary suitor. United are also interested in the Sevilla midfielder but Arsenal hold the aces, it is believed.

According to Spanish media outlet Estadio Deportivo, the Sevilla midfielder is changing agents and that has caused considerable suspicion at his present club. The player is apparently in the process of changing agents to English agency Stellar Group, which also represents Polish teammate and Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

Naturally, this has alarmed the Spanish side who want to keep their prized assets as they look to compete in the Champions League next season.

The fact that the player has said that nothing is permanent in football and some offers could be too hard to reject has put his side in even more worry.

He told Polish newspaper Fakt (as quoted by Sport Witness), “I do not have specific offers. I am very happy at Sevilla. At the same time I’d say that in football it’s a hard thing to plan for the long term. There are offers that are simply hard to reject.

The player has a a 30m clause which makes things easier for Arsenal who could attain the services of someone as good as Schneiderlin, but for cheaper.

Krychowiak moved to Sevilla during the summer transfer window of 2014 from Ligue 1 side Reims and he made the place of defensive midfield his own with his consistent performances. The Pole made 45 appearances for the Spanish side in all competitions last season, scoring four goals and grabbing an assist in the process. He scored in the final of the competition and was an instrumental part in Unai Emerya s side winning the Europa League. He has over 20 appearances for the Poland national team since his debut in 2008.

Necessary competition for Coquelin?

The player would be a good addition in Wengera s side, providing adequate competition for Coquelin who is still young and needs to be on his toes. Arsenal also have four competitions to worry about and having two strong players for one position will naturally only have advantages.
