Arsenal FC ai??i?? Campbell Set To Join Besiktas; Bastia Eyes Flamini

Summer clearance sale is in full swing at Arsenal FC as Joel Campbell is set to join Besiktas, whereas Mathieu Flamini has been linked with Bastia.

Joel Campbell signed for Arsenal back in 2011 from Costa Rican club Deportivo Saprissa, after growing quite a reputation back at home. But the youngster failed to obtain work permit to play in England and was loaned out to Lorient.

Campbell showed a lot of promise in France, but was once again loaned out in his second season, this time to Real Betis, as his struggle to gain work permit continued. The Costa Rican international finally did obtain his permit, but he needed regular first team action and was signed up by Olympiacos on loan.

.

Last season, he did return to Arsenal, and he finally made his Premier League debut. But having struggled to get into the first team, Campbell was once again loaned out back to Spain, this time with Villarreal.

The 23-year-olda s current contract with the club runs till 2016 and it seems unlikely that he will sign an extension. It would almost be impossible for him to get a place in the starting line-up at this point of his career. Turkish media AMK suggest that Campbell is close to agreeing personal terms with Besiktas and Arsenal have been offered a fee of A?3.5 million.

Arsenal have already offloaded Abou Diaby and Lukas Podolski, while David Ospina could also be heading towards a possible exit. Arsene Wenger is clearly making space in his squad for possible new arrivals, and the next names on this summer clearance sale could be Joel Campbell and Mathieu Flamini.

The French midfielder has reportedly drawn interest from Bastia and although he still has one year left in his contract, Flamini could possibly leave for free this summer.

This is Flaminia s second spell at Arsenal, but he never really regained the form he had before he joined AC Milan in 2008. With the emergence of Francis Coquelin and a new contract being offered to Mikel Arteta, Flamini has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates. The deal to join Bastia is however far from being completed at the moment.
