Tottenham Hotspur’s summer recruit Vlad Chirches is looking for a move to Italian Serie A while Fiorentina’s Stefan Savic has attracted the Premier League club’s interest. Vlad Chiriches agent hints about a possible swap deal involving Tottenham and Fiorentina.
Romanian Center Back Vlad Chiriches was part of the 110 million summer force Tottenham Hotspur assembled last season. In his first season in England, the North London side saw both the aspects of his game. Vlad Chiriches is fairly comfortable on the ball and is a calm customer. But his physique isn’t suited to English Premier League and his passing is error-prone.
Vlad Chiriches made 18 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, but he is poor in the air and lacks concentration to succeed in Premier League. Tottenham’s defence under performed last season and significant improvement is needed for them to get back in Champions League. Franco Baldini is working on the possibilities of shoring up the defence in transfer market. Michael Dawson is a target of newly promoted QPR, while Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches has raised interest from Italian Serie A side Fiorentina.
Tottenham Hotspur are trying to capitalize on the interest of Fiorentina on its defenders. Even though Younes Kaboul’s injury has slowed him down, Tottenham still believes in his abilities and is reluctant to part ways with the French defender. Vlad Chiriches isn’t expected to make it big in England and his agent is trying to engineer a move to Serie A which will suit the player more.
“Did you see how he [Vlad Chiriches] played; I believe he will not remain in England. I think he will go to Fiorentina. Tottenham? I understand their interest [Stefan] Savic. For my client, however, it is better to play Italian football rather than English, I think he can adapt more easily.“
Tottenham’s reported interest in former Manchester City defender Stefan Savic has opened the way for a possible swap deal. Fiorentina center back has valuable experience in Premier League as a youngster and Tottenham’s Franco Baldini is looking to bring him back to England. Stefan Savic has matured as a defender in Fiorentina after he struggled in Manchester City and it is believed that Vlad Chiriches is also looking to improve by choosing a similar path.
Express has reported that Tottenham are eying Fiorentina’s Stefan Savic in a swap deal for unsettled Vlad Chiriches. Stefan Savic is valued around 14 million by Fiorentina and by including a player of their interest, Tottenham are hoping to strike a deal.
