Arsenalai??i??s summer plans have been dealt a huge blow after Julian Draxler revealed that Bayern Munich cannot be ruled out as a possible destination for the emerging youngster. Arsenal made an attempt to sign the German midfielder from Schalke 04 this January but the deal fell through after Arsene Wenger failed to meet the price set by the German club.
Though the deal could not be completed in the Winter transfer window, it seemed apparent Arsenal were hoping to reignite their chase this summer. However it has now emerged that the German international is keeping his options open, particularly if an offer came calling from the Bavarian giants.
Drawing parallels between himself and Manuel Neuer who had to continuously fend off links between himself and Bayern Munich before making an eventual move, Draxler declared that he cannot say for sure what will happen in the future. Manuel Neuer played for Schalke 04 for five years and was regularly linked with Munich, claims which he vehemently denied. But after having served his time, he moved to Bayern Munich where he has earned a starting spot for himself and has gone ahead to be a part of a historic squad.
Speaking with the Press, Draxler spoke about his future which has been the centre of much speculation in the past couple of months.

Gifted with a powerful shot, Draxler is a big threat for the opposition and has the ability to take on defenders with ease. Arsenal were keen on acquiring the youngsterai??i??s services however failed to reportedly meet the price tag of ai??i??44.5 million.
Julian Draxler signed a contract extension with his current club till 2018 with a reported ai??i??37 million release clause. The attacking midfielder declared his satisfaction with his current club and reiterated that he was happy at Schalke 04 and would take a call regarding his future having assessed all the possible options.
“I prolonged my contract because I feel fine here and the long-term deal shows the appreciation and popularity I enjoy at Schalke.”
However the youngster admitted that he will eventually move out from Schalke 04 in search for greener pastures and has refused to rule out a possible move to Bayern Munich.
“Itai??i??s no secret that I have a release clause and therefore have the opportunity to consider what is best for my development every year.Ai??Of course, the clause leaves a lot of room for speculation, but it is also good for both sides.”

Meanwhile Bayern Munich general manager Matthias Sammer announced that the Champions League winners were in no hurry to dismiss interest in Julian Draxler stating that the club will pursue what is in its best interest.
“I will never rule out the best for the club.”
It will be interesting to see how the summer transpires for the young midfielder. Having broken the bank to bring Mesut Ozil last summer, it seems Arsene Wenger will have to dig deep into his pockets if he has to bring Draxler to Emirates next season.
