Ai??Chelsea star Juan Mata is attracting plenty of interests from the clubs in England and abroad and newspaper Daily Star
has confirmed today that Manchester United are still chasing the Spaniard.
Chelsea have flatly rejected the idea of selling Mata to a Premier League rival. But reports claim that United have already spoken to Mata’s agent and could tempt Chelsea’s tenacity with a A?27m offer.
Mata, meanwhile, wants out of Chelsea as he fears for his World Cup place because of his lack of playing time. Spain already possess the wealth of talent in a position where Mata plays and the 25 year old is not at all sure about his chances of getting the ticket of Brazil ai??i?? even if he makes a move in current transfer window.
His representatives have also been in contact with Italian side Napoli and Spanish clubs Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. It is thought Chelsea would prefer to sell to Atletico – but the ultimate decision rests with Mata.
However, big hurdle in the way of United in tempting the Spaniard to Old Trafford is that of Wayne Rooney. Chelsea are expected to make offer for Wayne Rooney – something boss David Moyes has so far refused to contemplate, despite Rooney having struggled with injuries this season.
The striker is currently in Egypt on a warm-weather break to recuperate from his ongoing groin problem.

“I did think about United,” he told reporters. “They are still in my heart. Itai??i??s a club where I played for six years and I love that club. I have a lot of friends there and I wish them the best.
“It was true that Rio spoke to me a lot. Rio is a great friend of mine, we played many years together at Manchester United and we were neighbours when I was there in Manchester. Heai??i??s a fantastic guy and tried to change my mind.”
Ronaldo first won the Ballon d’Or while at United in 2008 after he helped the Red Devils win the Champions League, and is now focusing on leading Madrid and Portugal to further glory. I’m going to try to do my best to win trophies with Madrid and my country,” he continued.
