Manchester United don’t care for losses as reports indicate they are willing to sell Fellaini for almost 50% less.
Manchester United will listen to offers of around A?15 million for Marouane Fellaini this summer. This comes just nine months after the 20 time League champions made the midfielder their fourth most expensive signing of all time.
Fellaini was signed by David Moyes and was United’s sole summer capture last season in a hefty A?27.5m move The Belgian international failed to justify the hype around him and suffered a frustrating season made worse by injuries. It has been reported that new manager van Gaal would be considerably trimming the squad as he wants to compete for the title in his first season itself. United are willing to suffer an almost 50 percent loss as they look to ship the Belgian out of Old Trafford.
Van Gaal has received a A?200m war chest to strengthen his side, with Southampton star Luke Shaw set to be the first signing of the new era. It is pretty evident that the Belgian would not have a place in United’s first choice lineup next season. The player failed to live up to his Everton form and his hefty price tag at United. But the fact remains that Fellaini ended up with one goal (League cup) in his first season at the club. Van Gaal would look to remove mediocrity from the Manchester club. The manager understands the need for quality within the squad and his securing 12m- 15m for a player who clearly disappointed the Red Devils faithful, seems like a large sum after a flop season.
