Manchester United winger Antonio Valenica has signed a new three-year contract to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old joined Manchester United in 2009 from Wigan Athletic and has won two Premier League titles and a League Cup since his arrival. But the Ecuadorian international has failed to produce consistent performances for his club in recent times and his future at Old Trafford has often been questioned. But his versatility, ability to play both as a right winger and as a right back, along with pace and work ethics makes him a valuable squad player. Valencia made 20 Premier League starts last season and any questions about his future at the club, following the arrival of new manager Louis van Gaal, has been squashed with a new three-year contract.
Assistant manager Ryan Giggs has expressed his delight at having secured the future of Valencia at the club and has praised his contribution since his arrival.
