Southampton defender Dejan Lovren has handed a transfer request
The 24 year old arrived from French sideAi??Lyon last summer for a sum ofAi??A?7 million. Reports indicate that the player wants to team up with ex- teammate Rickie Lambert who has joint the Merseyside just a few days back. The Daily Mail reported:
Sportsmail Online can reveal that the central defender wrote an email to executive director Les Reed and chairman Ralph Krueger on May 30 with notice of his desire to leave St Mary’s this summer.Ai??In the email, the defender outlined his ambition to play Champions League football next season and wants to move this summer.
While there are other clubs also interested in the player, including Serie A giants AS Roma, it is reported that the player has made this transfer request to push for a move to Liverpool. He held talks with the club at the end of the season when Liverpool made their interest known to the player.
