Ronald de Boer believes his brother Frank would now be interested in becoming Liverpool manager.
The Dutchman has claimed that his brother, currently manager of Ajax, will definitely considering becoming Reds manager if the Liverpool management were to approach him.
Frank de Boer apparently turned down the Liverpool job two years back, when he was approached by FSG to replace Kenny Dalglish. Eventually it was Brendan Rodgers, who interviewed superbly in that interview, that ended up being appointed the Liverpool boss.
De Boer has impressed greatlt ever since taking over Ajax in 2010. He has developed a great winning streak in his first managerial role in Netherlands.Ai??In April this year, he became the first man to win four straight Eredivisie titles. This feet was achieved with largely, a core of young players integrated into the first team through the club’s famous academy.

‘He would certainly not close the door immediately, like he did two years ago.’
Liverpool are currently languishing in eleventh position in the Premier League after having lost 3-0 to Manchester United last weekend. They’ve already been defeated in seven games this season, that is more defeats they accumulated over the entire last season. Brendan Rodgers’ position at the club has naturally come under scrutiny and a lot of comments have been made whether the Northern Irishman is safe in his job.
It is believed that the club owners are likely to persist with the former Swansea boss till the end of this season, and wait where the club will finish in the league. Only after that will John W Henry and co. make any decisions regarding his future. A finish outside the top 5 and Liverpool’s progress in the remaining cup compeitions will determin Rodgers’ future.
However, obviously if Liverpool continue their dismal streak, the owners will be forced to make a decision regarding Rodgers as there is considerable time to save the season.
De Boer is a great candidate to have for the job, and the Dutchman would only take over after the end of the season. Liverpool would natually feel boosted by his brother’s remarks.
Rodgers takes his side to Championship high-flyers Bournemouth on Wednesday in the Capital One Cup quarter-final before facing Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday in a must-win clash. Both these games can be essential in his survival at Liverpool
