Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has claimed that there will be transfer business in the coming days but players would be going out now, rather than coming in.
Rodgers told a press conference ahead of the side’s visit to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham, “There’ll probably be more movement out than coming in, I would say.Ai??We’ve still got offers for players to go. Every player here knows their situation, so if they’re here after that deadline on Monday then they’ve decided to stay but their game time will be very limited.Ai??At this moment in time, there are not many more to come in, if any.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool will be offering Jon Flanagan a new contract soon. Brendan Rodgers is pleased that the youngster who performed beyond expectations last season, is getting a new deal. He said,Ai??”He’s been unfortunate with injuries. He’s had a number of injuries during the time I’ve been in here, and before I came in. Just looking at his injury record, it hasn’t been great.Ai??But he’s a young kid who I really, really want to be an important member of our squad.Ai??He deserves a new deal. A lot of attention is on Mario Balotelli and the Italian could make his Liverpool debut against Spurs. However, Rodgers insisted that the focus should not be on him as he is not the only star of the team.
