Many reports coming out from Spanish media have linked Lionel Messi with a move away from Barcelona off late. However, it is understood that the Argentine maestro on verge of his contract extension with Blaugrana.
Spanish website Marca has reported today that Barcelona hope to officially announce over the next few days a new and improved deal for Leo Messi, one that clears up any lingering doubts surrounding the player or the club’s intentions, as well as confirming that all parties are singing from the same song sheet.
This deal could be announced after the meeting that is scheduled for the beginning of next week. Jorge Messi, who is currently in Argentina, is expected to arrive over the next few days and one of the first things in his diary is a meeting with Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Report claim the sides are 85% of the way to an agreement with the details to be finalised before Messi can be made the highest paid player in the world.
