PSG manager Laurent Blanc and forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic have provided assurance about their future with the French Champions.
Laurent Blanc has assured that he will sign a new contract once PSG wins the Ligue 1 title this season. The Frenchman, who replaced Carlo Ancelotti at the start of this season, was recently been linked with the job at his former club Manchester United, but is expected to stay at Paris with a new contract on the table. Blanc has endured a successful first season with PSG and has already won the TrophAi??e des Champions and Coupe de la Ligue, defeating Lyon in the final. The French club is also close to retaining their Ligue 1 title with a eight point advantage over second placed Monaco.
PSG could be crowned as the champions once again if Monaco fail to beat Guingamp tomorrow, even before PSG face Rennes at home. It will be the second Ligue 1 title for Blanc as a manager, after winning it with Bordeaux in 2009. PSG also performed well in the Champions League this season, before being knocked out by Chelsea in the quarter-final. But Blanc is waiting for his side to lift the Ligue 1 trophy to confirm his future with the club.
“I will extend my contract once PSG are crowned champions. It is a principle of mine.” ai??i?? The Frenchman said in his post-match interview.
The good news for PSG is that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has also hinted at extending his stay at Paris and has insisted that he could be at the club for two more years.
“I think so.
“I signed a one-year contract extension. If I’m still in form, and if my mentality remains strong, I’ll be at the club for another two years. If the club still want me, and if France still wants me, then I’ll be here.
“You won’t get rid of me that easily.” ai??i?? Zlatan said in an interview.
Zlatan, who is the top scorer in the Ligue 1 this season with 25 goals, has been struggling with his fitness since suffering a muscle tear during the first leg of their clash against Chelsea and has first team action since then. But the 32-year-old is confident of returning to the side during their upcoming match against Rennes.
“I’m feeling much better. I’ve done a lot of muscle work and I hope to be ready to go against Rennes.” ai??i?? He added.
