Guardiola Insists Bayern Are Still A Work In Progress Ahead Of Their Clash Against Arsenal

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has insisted that his side are still a work in progress and that they need time to get even better, ahead of their Champions League tie against Arsenal FC.

After Pep Guardiola took over at Bayern Munich at the start of this season there were few doubts as to whether he can actually improve the treble winning Jupp Heynckes side. In fact many believed that if Guardiola tinkers with this already well-functioned machine it could possibly disrupt the teamai??i??s mechanism. But the former Barcelona mastermind has already made a positive impact on the German club seven months into his new job.

With their 4-0 win over Freiburg at the weekend and Bayer Leverkusen dropping points at home against Schalke, Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table to a massive 16 points and are yet to lose a game in that competition. In fact Bayern Munich have lost only twice under Guardiola so far, first in the pre-season super cup against Borussia Dortmund and more recently in their last group stage fixture against Manchester City in the Champions having already secured their place in the knock-out stages. This season Bayern Munich has seemingly been more ruthless, both in attack and defence. Guardiolaai??i??s men have conceded just nine goals in 21 league matches and have scored 57 goals in return.

But the Bayern Munich manager insists that his side are still a work in progress and that he needs more time to get to know all his playerai??i??s strength and weakness.

“Regularly we play okay for three minutes, 20 minutes, but not consistently. That’s normal. We change little things and ideas, and I need time.

“During the process it’s important to win because you get more time to work. When you don’t win, you know it’s more difficult to change quickly.

“We are in a good position, but I’m still in a period where I’m getting to know the players, and the players me. I feel we are still in a process of getting better.” ai??i?? The Bayern Munich boss said ahead of their clash against Arsenal.

Speaking about the highly anticipated fixture at the Emirates where he will look for his first win in this ground as a manager, Guardiola claimed that it is almost impossible to dominate a game for 90 minutes against a side like Arsenal.

“You can’t dominate Arsenal for 90 minutes.
