Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas has been ruled out of Spain’s 2016 Euro Qualifier against Belarus. According to The Guardian, Fabregas is ruled out because of a hamstring injury and is set to miss matches against Belarus and Germany.
Fabregas played the whole ninety minutes in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Liverpool, even after suffering from an injury as Jose Mourinho gambled his inclusion. The Special One already predicted that Fabregas would be back if he links up with Spain, as the midfielder was not fully fit.
A statement from the Spanish Football Federation said: ai???The Chelsea midfielder has been ruled out for the games against Belarus and Germany following tests and an evaluation of his condition that was carried out this morning by the medical staff of the Spanish national team.
ai???The MRI done this morning in the Sanitas Clinic in La Moraleja, Madrid showed a clear improvement with respect to the one done by his club on Sunday.
Although Fabregas has been one of the keylinks in the Spanish side, he has been replaced byAi??Villarreal’s midfielder Bruno Soriano.
Fabregas has also been one of the leading lights ever since he joined Chelsea from Barcelona. The Midfielder has enjoyed his time and space with Nemanja Matic and has often been hailed as Chelsea’s pivotal link between midfield and attack which was missing in the yester seasons.
He has also showcased an impressive budding partnership with Diego Costa, who has been unstoppable in the Premier League so far.
Ai??FAi??bregas plays mainly as a central midfielder or attacking midfielder but has also played as a second striker in some occasions for the national team.
After a disappointing World Cup were Spain were knocked out, as early as the group Stages, the 2010 World Cup winners would look to avenge and fulfill their desire of more international laurels, as they set their eyes of Euro 2016.
However, this road might not be easy because current World Champions, Germany, are one of the favorites for Euro 2016. Spain also play Germany after their Qualifier against Belarus, on November 18th, and this would be the first meeting between these two heavyweights in the last four years. Their last meeting resulted in a 1-0 win for Spain at World Cup 2010.
Although Spain would be without one of their Midfield anchors Cesc Fabregas, others like Xavi and Iniesta, would look to control the tempo of the game and play their own brand of football.
Spain have also been lamented recently for their Tiki-Taka approach, which ironically has been dubbed ‘boring’ by some fans. After lashing out of World Cup 2014, Spain would look to make these two international fixtures count and would be hoping to defeat World Champions Germany.
