The Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Ronaldo has moved on from jeers aimed at him during the Liga win over Rayo Vallecano at the weekend.
Ronaldo opened the scoring inAi??a 5-0 winAi??over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday with his 28th goal in La Liga this season, and 44th in all competitions. But at one stage, whistles could be heard from the Bernabeu crowd when the 29-year-old was in possession.
Carlo Ancelotti also assured in the press conference prior to the upcoming game against Borussia Dortmund that Cristiano Ronaldo is highly motivated despite the boos and whistling he was subject to last Saturday at the BernabAi??u.
“I see Cristiano [Ronaldo] as being highly motivated,” Ancelotti stated at a press conference.
“The whistles he received from the crowd have now been forgotten. He was whistled because he didn’t pass the ball when that was perhaps the best option. That’s all there’s to it.
“Cristiano is always giving his all for the club, for the team and for everyone.”
Earlier, Coach Carlo Ancelotti had said that he cannot understand why some Real Madrid fans boo Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
“We need the help of everyone. Whistling Cristiano isn’t comprehensible,” said Ancelotti.
“I have always said that sometimes I understand whistles because they can be deserved. Right now? No, the players are putting in a lot of effort.”
Carlo Ancelotti also spoke about Real Madridai??i??s quarter final tie with Borussia Dortmund. Ancelotti claimed that Rober Lewandowskiai??i??s absence will play a key role in this game.
“Dortmund are missing Lewandowski which is a big loss for them,” he said.
“They are a compact team and have excellent transitions in their play [from defence to attack]. They have injuries but wonai??i??t change their style.
“I admire their coach a lot. He has done a fantastic job there. He got to the final of the Champions League last season which is a big objective for any coach.”
Ancelotti also reflected on last year’s semi-final tie and stressed that the Spanish giants will need to play with a lot of intensity in order to match their opponents this year.
“I watched the games against Dortmund from last season. They were strange matches.
“I thought that in the first leg Madrid had good control in the first half. The second half was incredible. In the Champions League things like that can happen. We will need to play with a lot of intensity.”
