Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has labelled Atletico Madrid as the favourites ahead of the Champions League final clash at Lisbon.
Real Madrid will face rivals Atletico Madrid in the final of the Champions League on Saturday and according to Sergio Ramos, Los Blancos will head into this game as the under-dogs.
Atletico Madrid did the unthinkable in La Liga this season as they gazumped Barcelona and Real Madrid and lifted the domestic title after eighteen years. Diego Simeoneai??i??s men broke the long standing duopoly in La Liga and despite having a limited budget and squad, compared to the riches of Barcelona and Real Madrid, Atletico became the toast of Europe this season.
They have also performed exceedingly well in Europe and have reached the final of this competition for the second time in their history ai??i?? the last time they reached this far was back in 1974. Compared to that Real Madrid have a tremendous history and record in this competition and have already won it nine times in the past. They are now desperate in their pursuit of ai???La Decimaai??? and have an opportunity to complete the double this season, having already won the Copa del Rey.
But despite their experience in this competition and possessing a squad worth millions of dollars, Sergio Ramos feels that his side will head into this final as the underdogs.
“We are up against a great team in Atletico Madrid who, from my point of view, are the favourites.
“They are the deserved current league champions and deserve credit for reaching the Champions League final.

Ramos also expected a very physical encounter in the final and has dedicated the match to the fans.
“The final is for the fans. It’s a competition which after so many years really excites both us and the fans.
